Absa Bank confirms two COVID-19 cases
Absa Bank Ghana Limited, formerly known as Barclays Bank, has confirmed its first coronavirus case.
The Managing Director, Abena Osei-Poku, in a memo to staff, said two of its staff have been infected with the deadly virus.
The company said the affected colleagues are being offered the necessary support for a speedy recovery.
It also noted that contract tracing had begun to determine the number of people who came into contact with the two.
She, however, assured the staff that their well-being and health continued to remain a top priority for the company.
She advised staff to continue to adhere to all the safety protocols directed by the health ministry.
“If you feel unwell, kindly contact functional head, who will ensure you have received the required support immediately,” excerpts of the statement read.
“Testing is available to all of you on demand,” she added.
This comes a day after a media organisation, Joynews, confirmed that five of its staff have also tested positive for the virus.
