Abronye DC arrested again over false news charges
Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, has been arrested once again, barely a month after being granted bail by an Accra Circuit Court.
The Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) was picked up on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, over fresh allegations of publishing false news with the intent to cause fear and panic, as well as offensive conduct likely to breach the peace.
This marks the second time in just three weeks that Abronye has been arrested over similar charges.
He was granted bail later the same day, this time set at GHC1 million with two sureties.
Details surrounding the latest incident remain limited, but sources close to the investigation say it is linked to a recent public statement made by Abronye, which authorities believe could incite unrest.
His repeated run-ins with the law are drawing concern from both party insiders and the public.
As of now, no trial date has been announced, but observers are keeping a close eye on how this could affect Abronye’s standing within the NPP and his regional leadership role.
