Agricultural Development Bank PLC (ADB) has announced that Abena Osei-Asare, the Minister of State at the Finance Ministry, has resigned as a non-executive director, effective August 7, 2024, after six years of service.
Appointed to ADB PLC’s Board of Directors in August 2018, Abena Osei-Asare served in various roles, including chairing the bank’s risk committee.
Due to her recent appointments to the Bank of Ghana and the Financial Stability Council, she has resigned from ADB PLC to focus on these new, crucial responsibilities.
“On behalf of the Board, Management, and Staff, the Board Chairman, Daasebre Akuamoah Agyapong II, expressed appreciation to Abena Osei-Asare for her invaluable contributions to the growth and development of ADB PLC during her tenure,” the statement from the bank said.
In February this year, President Akufo-Addo appointed Abena Osei-Asare, former Deputy Minister for Finance and NPP MP for Atiwa East, as Minister of State at the Finance Ministry.
She succeeded Mohammed Amin Adam, who became the substantive Finance Minister after Ken Ofori-Atta left office on February 14, 2024, after serving for 7 years and 2 months.
