A/R: Six injured in robbery attack at Bomfa Adumasa
A robbery incident in Bomfa Adumasa, located in the Juaben Municipality of the Ashanti Region, has left six individuals injured and created a sense of fear and panic within the community.
According to the Assembly Member for the area, Andrew Agyapong, the attack took place at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Monday, October 20, when armed robbers on a motorbike invaded the community and assaulted several gold buyers.
The assailants reportedly discharged multiple gunshots indiscriminately as they made their escape from the scene.
Six residents were hit by stray bullets and suffered varying degrees of injury. They were promptly transported to different hospitals, where they are presently receiving medical care.
Mr. Agyapong further confirmed that two suspects have been apprehended and are now in the custody of the Konongo Divisional Police Command for further investigation.
The unfortunate incident reportedly occurred around 2:27 a.m. on the Duuklotuk–Nakpanduri highway when armed individuals allegedly attempted to stop the moving bus using flashlights.
As per eyewitness reports, the driver, sensing danger, declined to stop, which led the assailants to open fire on the vehicle.
An eyewitness who communicated with the media stated, “The armed robbers didn’t block the road with any object. They stopped the bus with torchlights, and when the driver refused to stop, they started shooting at the back of the bus. The place where it happened was not a community-based location”.
The deceased and the injured were swiftly transported to the Faith Community Hospital in Nakpanduri for urgent medical care.
