The Obuasi Circuit Court has placed nine suspects in police custody following the circulation of a viral video depicting an assault on police officers at Tweapease Senior High School Park in the Ashanti Region.
As stated in a press release issued by the police on Saturday, January 10, 2026, the suspects, Joshua Frimpong, also known as Joey B; Bannor Williams; Isaac Dwumfour, also known as Sporty; Evans Bannor, also known as Pressure King; Asiedu Ronald, also known as Case Close; Sarfo Alex, also known as Okele; Yaw Alex; Obidiaba Desmond; and Agyemang Emmanuel, were presented before the Obuasi Circuit Court on January 8, 2026, facing charges of assaulting public officers.
The incident is reported to have occurred at Tweapease SHS Park, where the suspects, along with others, assaulted police officers who were performing their duties, as noted in the statement.
The police have indicated that investigations are currently underway, cautioning that anyone who assaults officers will be pursued and held accountable.
