A/R: Flood Sweeps Two Away

At least two persons have been washed away by floods in the Ashanti Region during the Wednesday, June 21, 2023, downpour.

Both victims are reportedly men who attempted to cross the water in the evening to their various destinations.

At Afoah on the Barekese road, a victim who was sitting on a bicycle wanted to save his bicycle but failed, losing his life.

In the Atwima Nwabiagya North district, a father of two was also washed away at Abuakwa Besiase while crossing a river on a motorcycle.

Traditional authorities in the communities where the flood waters washed away the people have been informed while preparations for traditional rites are underway.

Several communities in the Ashanti region, including Kejetia, Adum, Breman, Aboabo, and Oforikrom, were all flooded after yesterday’s rains.
