Video:Kevin-Prince Boateng’s official presentation

Kevin-Prince Boateng will wear the number 19 jersey after completing a loan transfer to Spanish giants FC Barcelona today.

He reportedly put pen to paper on a six-month loan deal earlier today to join Barca on-loan from Sassuolo.

Boateng, 31, is expected to join his teammates for training tomorrow.

Adding experience and versatility to the team

Born in Berlin on 6 March 1987, Kevin-Prince Boateng is a player who will surely adapt quickly to the team. With experience of playing in four of the biggest leagues in Europe, the Premier League, the Bundesliga, Serie A and La Liga, he is a man who has scored goals wherever he has been.

Furthermore, Boateng is a player who versatile to a fault. During his time with Las Palmas with Quique Setién as coach he played as an out and out striker, a typical number ‘9’. However, he is also able to play further back as he did at AC Milan, scoring twice against Barça in his time with the rossoneri. His ability to bring people into the game means he is excellent at playing behind the main striker.

He began his career with his home town club of Hertha, making his Bundesliga debut on 13 August 2005. In 2007 he signed for Tottenham Hotspur before moving to Borussia Dortmund for six months. Boateng’s sojourn back in Germany was cut short by a return to the Premier League and a move to Portsmouth.

After appearing for Ghana in 2010 for the first of his two World Cup appearances, Boateng made the move to Serie A signing for AC Milan where he won a scudetto and the Italian Super Cup. In Lombardy he coincided with former blaugranes Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Ronaldinho.

A short spell with Schalke 04 was followed by a return to AC Milan for six months before the former Ghanian international made his way to La Liga with Las Palmas. In the 2016/17 season he scored 10 goals for the island side before a return to Germany with Eintracht Frankfurt the following campaign. In the summer of 2018, he moved to Sassuolo, which the Club maintains a good relationship, where he scored 4 goals in 13 matches in Serie A.
