Ghanaian clubs mourn the death of Berekum Arsenal’s Alhaji Moro

The Ghana Football Association has led tributes following the death of owner Berekum Arsenal, Alhaji Yakubu Moro.

The GFA was joined in the tributes by several Ghanaian clubs who have expressed their condolence to the family of the late football administrator and bankroller of the Division One club

Alhaji Moro was confirmed dead on Thursday night after battling a short illness.

Report says the renowned and outspoken football administrator had not been well for some weeks and had been receiving treatment at the Accra Regional Hospital.

As per Islamic practice, Alhaji Moro will be buried Friday, October 16.

His club Berekum Arsenal Berekum Arsenal earned a promotion to the Ghana Premier League in 2000 and stayed on until 2013 where they got relegated.

In 2006, the Berekum club qualified for the CAF Confederation Cup but were eliminated in the second round by Angolan giants Petro Atletico.
