CK Akonnor announces Black Stars line-up for Qatar game

Black Stars coach CK Akonnor has announced his line-up for the friendly match against Qatar with five changes to the team that lost against Mali on Friday.

In post, Razak Abalora makes his first national team appearance replacing Lawrence Ati-Zigi.

In defence, coach Akonnor has redefined his entire set up with the introduction of Joseph Aidoo to replace the injured Nicholas Opoku, with Benson Annang starting on the right flank.

Midfield has Baba Idrissu paring up with Thomas Partey with Samuel Owusu and Tariq Fosu playing on the flanks.

The captain of the team, Andre Ayew teams up with the brother Jordan upfront in a two attackers formation that seems could be Akonnor redemption plan after the 3-0 thrashing by Mali.

Following the defeat, Akonnor promised a change of personality and approach in today’s game and the line-up suggest so,  kick off is at 3:30 pm.

The game forms part of the preparations for next month’s AFCON qualifier against Sudan.
