Black Stars to play Mali and Equatorial Guinea next month
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has confirmed two opponents scheduled to play the Black Stars in a friendly encounter next month.
The two teams. Mali and Equatorial Guinea will lock horns with the Black Stars in two separate friendly games in Antalya, Turkey on the weekend of 9 to 12 October.
The Black Stars will play the Eagles of Mali on Friday, October 9, before taking on Equatorial Guinea’s thunders on Monday, October 12, 2020.
Both games will be played behind closed doors and under strict COVID-19 protocols.
Black Stars’ coach Akonnor is set to use the upcoming games to prepare the team for November’s 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sudan.
The two friendlies will come in handy for C.K Akonnor who is yet to play his first game since he was appointed the new coach of the Black Stars in February this year.
Ghana is currently on top of Group F with 6 points following victories against South Africa and Sao Tome and Principe in November 2019.
