Putuu was freestyle, go easy on me – Stonebwoy to critics

Dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy, has asked Ghanaians to go easy on him with the criticisms on his latest song ‘Putuu’.

His new single ‘Putuu’ has sparked debate in the music industry; while some have commended the  ‘Ololo’ hitmaker for  exhibiting his creativity, other too have totally dismissed the song with some calling it senseless.

The dancehall artist responding to the backlash in an interview with Graphic Showbiz said he was just exercising his creativity.

He has, therefore, asked Ghanaians to ease their stress with the track.

“Actually ‘Putuu’ is a song to ease people’s stress in these Covid-19 times while we remember to pray about the situation. I’m a very creatively gifted individual who is supposed to keep people’s hopes and moods uplifted in sad times,” he said.

Reggae/Dancehall producer, Riddim Boss is among the critics of ‘Putuu’

“I feel he wasn’t strong with his delivery. If you know Stonebwoy and his words, you know this song is thrash. I look forward to a better track. He promoted it for a while, so I thought it was going to be a better song” Riddim Boss wrote on Facebook.

In his defense, Stonebowy said “It is not everyone who will like your song. I don’t expect everyone to jump on the song but I know the majority of Ghanaians and my fans worldwide are enjoying it big time”

“The song was a freestyle but it leaked and the public demanded it so we had to release it. Trust me I am surprised about the way it is flying so fast,” he added.
