I-Zar Group CEO named judge on The Presidential Pitch programme

Decorated entrepreneur Rashida Saani Nasamu, has been nominated as a judge on The Presidential Pitch, a government-run programme to support promising business ideas among the youth.

The CEO of a strategic communications company, I-Zar Group, is expected to bring her recognised experience in growing businesses and brands when she joins the show in its third season.

The Presidential Pitch is organised by the Business Development Ministry and was first launched in 2018.

Speaking at the launch of Season Three, Ibrahim Awal Mohammed, reported the initiative’s successes.

“Under season one and two, 460 jobs were created by the 20 people we supported, we gave them the money, they had the ideas and implemented it and that created jobs…. the President wants to build confidence in the youth to be business owners.”

This year, the government of Ghana through the Ministry has set aside ȼ1million to support the best 10 of the applicants at the grand finale which will take place on the 1st of July, 2020.

Rashida Saani Nasamu joins a panel of her entrepreneurial peers to help identify the next batch of big ideas running through the minds of 18 to 35-year-olds.

Only last December, the entrepreneur earned rave reviews for branding a Ghanaian delicacy, ‘Waakye’.

She launched ‘Alhaji’s Wife Waakye’ at Spintex in Accra. It is an eatery modelled on the operational efficiency of US food giant, MacDonald’s, the classy food joint is a drive-through restaurant complete with wi-fi connections and a host of cable TV for lovers of football.

Rashida Saani Nasamu also heads The Ghana Report Foundation and has been named CEO of the Year in Ghana’s list of 40 entrepreneurs under 40.

The I-Zar Group which she heads is a company with affiliates in consultancy, media, construction, entrepreneurship, social interventions, and skills development.
