Kotoko ban on player recruitment good for Konadu – J.E Sarpong
Veteran Ghanaian Coach J.E Sarpong has applauded Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, for imposing transfer ban on Kotoko, insisting it will help bring the best out of Maxwell Konadu.
In an interview with Starr Sports, Coach Sarpong said it was a good decision taken by the owner and life patron of the club.
“Kotoko registered more than necessary players because I don’t know the figure but I learnt it is around fifty players or something and how many is selected for a game?
“It’s only eighteen and the rest from the eighteen what are they doing that’s why in Europe they register not more than 25 players“
“Every year they buy so many players and they are all on salary but they won’t even use them so it all come at a huge disadvantage to the club financially so for me I support the call by Otumfuo to place a ban on player recruitment for at least one season” he explained.
“The good thing about this whole decision too is that it will always bring out the experience in Coach Maxwell Konadu ” Coach Sarpong added.
Currently, the Premier league actions has been halted till July 31 due to a ban on sporting activities by the President as a measure to deal with the covid-19 pandemic.
