Sammy Gyamfi condemned for comparing new register to Floyd’s death
Some social media users in Ghana have descended heavily on the National Communications Officer for the opposition NDC Sammy Gyamfi, over his latest artwork dubbed ‘choking the voter!’.
The image sought to mimic the circumstances under which a black man, George Floyd, was killed by a police officer in Minneapolis in the US.
Mr Floyd was killed by police who knelt on his neck until he could no longer breathe.
His death has sparked a wave of protests across the US.
In the NDC cartoon, the EC Boss, Jean Mensah was seen doing the same to a voter. She was seen kneeling on the neck of a voter with a book that had the inscription, new voter register.
President Akufo-Addo was also captured in the cartoon kneeling on the legs of the voter saying “I have eased restrictions”.
The image, which has since gone viral, was heavily criticised by some social media users who described it as insensitive.
Sammy Gyamfi has made a mess of himself and NDC as a political party
He should delete the thing and apologize not only to Ghanaians but the whole world for using a hashtag meant to bring justice and stop racism to mock and do petty politics.
Such a shame!

I always had a strong feeling that this Sammy Gyamfi guy isn’t really wise and he didn’t prove me wrong.

Sammy Gyamfi is a really insensitive person. We’re facing a global crisis and you use that picture to score cheap political points
