‘Ghana is not worth dying for’ – Prof. Frimpong Boateng fumes

The Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Prof. Kwabena Frimpong Boateng, says it is not easy working for the ignorant and the ungrateful.

According to him, Ghana was not worth dying for.

“Ghana is not worth dying for because it is not easy working for the ignorant and the ungrateful,” he said in a yet-to-be-aired KSM Show.

The  cabinet minster, in recent times, has been accused of being neck-deep in illegal mining- a social menace his ministry was charged to eradicate.

He was accused of collaborating with a former NPP Central Regional Chairman, Ekow Awusi, to sell off seized excavators to party members.

In a video that went viral,  Prof Boateng was heard in a verbal brawl with an NPP member over releasing concessions to members of the ruling party, an allegation he  vehemently denied.

The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) called for his arrest and subsequent incarceration.

Prof. Frimpong Boateng, expressing his views on Ghana and how he’s been unfairly  treated as  minister in-charge of fighting illegal mining (galamsey), said It’s not worth sacrificing for Ghana.

Prof. Frimpong Boateng is a successful cardiothoracic surgeon, the first to have performed  open-heart surgery in Ghana using the heart-lung-machine.

He led efforts to set up the Korle Bu Cardiothoracic Center.
