Chelsea star Hudson-Odoi arrested on suspicion of rape
Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi has been arrested on suspicion of rape after inviting a glamour model to his flat during lockdown.
Hudson-Odoi, 19, was arrested at the scene after police were called to an address in South West London in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Officers went to the penthouse after a woman rang police and an ambulance.
The England star has been bailed until next month and an investigation is ongoing.
Chelsea have declined to comment.
A neighbour of Hudson-Odoi’s said the model had arrived at the building about 8pm on Saturday, adding: “She looked very glamorous, like the sort of girl you’d see on Love Island.
“She had very posh Louis Vuitton luggage with her.”
The neighbour added: “The place has been crawling with police.
“A spa area on the roof has been taped off but I’ve no idea if that’s the same incident.”
Another resident said: “There have been a few gatherings happening but we didn’t know quite who was responsible.
“There are a couple of footballers in the building — but in the early hours of last night it all kicked off and the police were called.”It is believed the 19-year-old made contact with the woman on social media on Saturday before inviting her to his penthouse.
Hudson-Odoi is thought to have sent a car to collect her for a trip across the capital to his West London home.
Paramedics attended early Sunday alongside the police officers who arrested the footballer. The model was taken to hospital after complaining of feeling unwell.
Police were later seen at the apartment building interviewing concierge staff.
A further five officers arrived at around 2.30pm in an apparent search operation.
Hudson-Odoi, who has played three times for his country, became the first Premier League player to test positive for coronavirus in March.
But he made a full recovery and is currently due to return to action along with his Chelsea teammates when the Premier League resumes next month.
A police spokesman said: “Police and London Ambulance Service were called at 03:53hrs on Sunday, 17 May to a report of an unwell woman.
“When emergency services attended, a woman reported that she was raped. She was taken to hospital.
“A man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of rape. He was released from custody and bailed to return on a date in mid-June.”
