Oti, Western North join coronavirus-hit regions as cases soar to 1,279
The Oti and Western North regions are the latest to join Ghana’s league of COVID-19 infected regions.
The Oti Region has recorded 13 cases, while Western North recorded it first. Ghana’s case count now stands at 1,279 from an initial 1,154. This means, 125 new cases have been recorded.
This brings the total number of infected regions to 12 out of 16.
According to the Ghana Health Service (GHS), 130 persons have recovered. One more person has died, bringing the total number of coronavirus deaths to 10. This was contained in an update published on the website of the GHS Friday, April 24, 2020.
The Greater Accra Region tops all regions with the highest number of positive cases, followed by the Ashanti and Eastern regions.
