The stage is set for another exciting display of youth football as the 2026 MTN Elite U-19 Championship prepares to kick off at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence (GSCE) in Prampram.
The tournament is scheduled to take place from August 24 to September 4, 2026, and will feature ten U-19 select teams representing Regional Football Associations (RFAs) from across Ghana.
The competition has become an important part of the Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) player development programme, providing a platform for young footballers to showcase their talents and gain valuable experience in a competitive environment.
The 2026 edition is expected to attract attention from national youth team coaches, professional clubs, and scouts who will be looking for emerging talents capable of representing Ghana at future international competitions.
Over nearly two weeks of action, the country’s most promising young players will compete for regional pride, individual recognition, and the opportunity to make a strong impression on the football community.
Defending champions Eastern Region will return to the competition with the aim of keeping the title they won in the inaugural edition. The team will face strong competition from other regions hoping to claim the prestigious trophy.
Brong Ahafo Region, who finished as runners-up in 2025, will also enter the tournament with renewed determination as they seek to go one step further and win the championship.
The other regional teams are expected to bring their best performances as they compete in what promises to be a highly competitive tournament filled with exciting football and emerging stars.
As the country continues to invest in youth development, the 2026 MTN Elite U-19 Championship is expected to highlight the quality and potential of Ghana’s next generation of football stars.
