3 injured after timber logs crush vehicles on Oforikrom road

Three people have sustained injuries after timber logs fell from an overturned truck onto two vehicles along the New Road in the Oforikrom Municipality of the Ashanti Region.

The accident occurred when the truck, which was transporting timber logs, reportedly lost control while attempting to avoid a faulty waste tricycle that had been left stationary on the outer lane of the road.

The truck overturned in the process, causing the logs to spill onto two vehicles travelling on the stretch.

Three occupants of the affected vehicles sustained various degrees of injury, while four others escaped unharmed.

The crash caused major traffic congestion on the Anloga New Road leading to the Asokwa Interchange, as the overturned truck, damaged vehicles and scattered timber logs blocked parts of the road during rush hour.

Police officers and other emergency responders were at the scene managing traffic and coordinating efforts to remove the truck, vehicles and timber logs from the roadway.

The cause of the crash is expected to be investigated by the relevant authorities.
