The Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) has advised students, parents, and guardians not to enrol in some learning centres run by public universities because they have not been accredited by the Commission.
In a public notice issued on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, GTEC said it had identified 15 learning centres and campuses linked to public universities that are operating without the required accreditation.
The affected centres include the University of Ghana Learning Centres in Koforidua, Cape Coast, Tamale, Ho/Tsito, Wa, Bolgatanga, and Sunyani.
The list also includes the University of Education, Winneba Learning Centres at Jayee University College in Accra and St. Theresa’s College in Anaji-Takoradi, along with several other centres.
GTEC also revealed that the accreditation of 36 other tertiary institutions has expired.
The Commission advised anyone planning to apply to a tertiary institution to first confirm with GTEC that the institution, learning centre, and academic programme are properly accredited before seeking admission.
