Benedicta Assaffuah, according to the suspect, refused to leave, which provoked him to hold her by the neck, thus choking her to death.

“I quickly came out to see my husband and my daughter in a brawl. I tried to separate them but could not so, I decided to rush to call a neighbour next-door to help, but when I returned, I saw my daughter lying motionlessly on the ground,” the mother of the deceased, Augustina Dadzie narrated.

Benedicta was pronounced dead on arrival by health officials at the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital. Her body has since been deposited at the Takoradi Government Hospital for autopsy, while Police investigations commence.

A witness to the incident, who is the younger sister of the deceased, said her stepfather strangled her sister to death, but the suspect has denied vehemently saying he only gave her a big blow.
