The incident happened on Saturday, June 6, opposite the Ashfoam showroom and near Melcom Plus.

The building, a three-storey structure that was still under construction, is believed to have been designed as a residential building with shops on the ground floor.

Emergency response teams, led by the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), quickly arrived at the scene and began search and rescue operations.

Other security agencies have also joined the effort to assist with the operation.

According to fire officers, parts of the collapsed building have not yet been fully accessed, raising concerns that more people could still be trapped inside.
