Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has criticised the NDC government for failing to fulfil the promises made to Ghanaians before the election.
During a press conference on May 26, 2026, he characterised the government as dishonest and claimed it is resorting to propaganda rather than delivering tangible results.
“We are simply saying NDC is a scam. They don’t believe in what they say,” he stated.
Afenyo-Markin noted that the government has not implemented its promised “one job, three shifts” policy.
“They promised one job, three shifts. As we speak, they have failed on that promise,” he said.
He also criticised the government regarding cocoa pricing, asserting that cocoa farmers have not received the promised benefits.
“They told cocoa farmers that a bag of cocoa would sell at GH¢7,000, but they rather reduced it,” he claimed.
Afenyo-Markin further stated that local farmers are facing difficulties because government policies are not supportive of agriculture.
“Rice farmers are complaining, maize farmers are complaining, yam farmers are complaining,” he added.
He contended that imported rice has now become less expensive than locally produced rice, which he argues is adversely affecting local producers.
