With no immediate support from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), community members had to rely on buckets of water and other improvised methods to try to control the blaze.

Some traders were seen frantically attempting to salvage whatever goods they could from the inferno.

Witnesses said a strong windstorm swept through the town, fanning the flames into the market.

While the exact cause of the fire is yet to be officially determined, the combination of dry conditions and gusty winds contributed to its rapid spread.

Officials are expected to investigate the incident to determine the precise cause and assess the full extent of the losses.
