Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer and former Vice President,  held a high-level breakfast meeting with European Union ambassadors in Accra.

The meeting focused on how Ghana and the EU can work more closely together, especially in areas like investment, economic growth, and regional security.

In a Facebook post on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, Bawumia said the meeting included ambassadors from 10 EU countries: Austria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, and Malta, along with representatives from the European Union.

He described the talks as positive and forward-looking, saying they focused on shared goals between Ghana and its European partners.

These included improving security in the region, growing the economy, and creating more investment opportunities in Ghana.

Bawumia also said he remains committed to strengthening Ghana’s democracy, supporting steady economic growth, and improving the lives of citizens through inclusive development.

The meeting is part of ongoing efforts to build stronger relationships with international partners and attract foreign investment to help Ghana’s economy recover and grow over time.
