Three Level 400 students of the University for Development Studies (UDS) have been remanded into police custody over their alleged involvement in an armed robbery incident.

The suspects are said to be affiliated with the Nyankpala and Dungu campuses of the university.

They appeared before a court, which ordered their remand, with a date for their next appearance yet to be announced.

According to authorities, investigations are still ongoing as police work to determine the full details of the case.

Speaking to the media in Tamale, Northern Regional Police Commander Wisdom Lavoe revealed that one of the suspects was arrested while allegedly attempting to travel to the North East Region.

He explained that the arrest is part of a wider police operation aimed at reducing crime in the region, particularly armed robbery.

The police have assured the public of their continued commitment to maintaining safety and ensuring that those responsible are brought to justice.

The case has attracted attention within the university community, as investigations continue and the suspects remain in custody awaiting their next court appearance.
