Health service awaits COVID-19 results of 4 contact person
The Ghana Health Service (GHS) says it is awaiting the test results of some four persons who came into contact with the infected persons.
“A total of 399 contacts have been identified and are being followed up. 19 of the contacts developed some forms of symptoms and samples have been taken for laboratory testing. We have received results for 15 of them, which are all negative for COVID-19, and we are awaiting results for four of them,” a statement on the health service’s website said.
Ghana on Thursday recorded two more cases of the deadly coronavirus outbreak, bringing the nation’s total number of cases to nine.
According to the Ghana Health Service, the latest cases are all imported cases, which came from the UK and the UAE, adding that all the patients were Ghanaian nationals.
Over 300 people have been identified as contact persons of the nine infected persons.
No deaths have so far been recorded in Ghana.

His comments came hours after the Head of the Noguchi memorial institute for medical research, Professor Kwabena Annan, warned of the possibilities of recording more cases in the country.
According to him, an increase in the number of contact persons could spell doom for the country.
