GAF recruitment: One busted at El-Wak for forging documents

The Ghana Armed Forces has confirmed the arrest of a person for falsifying documents during the current military recruitment process at the El-Wak Stadium in Accra.

The recruitment initiative, which recommenced on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at the El-Wak Stadium, had been halted on November 12 due to a tragic stampede that resulted in the deaths of six prospective recruits.

Nearly a thousand candidates have participated in the process thus far.

Speaking to the media, Colonel Evelyn Asamoah, the Director of Protocol for the Ghana Armed Forces, stated that the suspect has been detained by security personnel and will face consequences in accordance with established protocols.

Additionally, James Agalga, the Chairman of the Defence and Interior Committee of Parliament, who conducted a monitoring visit to the recruitment centre at the El-Wak Stadium, expressed his approval of the management of the exercise.
