Inflation drops to 8% in October 2025
Inflation rate fell to 8.0% in October 2025, its lowest level in over four years, marking the tenth straight month of decline.
According to data from the Ghana Statistical Service(GSS), the new figure shows continued improvement from 9.4% recorded in September 2025, reflecting the positive effects of a stable cedi, lower fuel prices, and better food supply conditions across the country.
Food inflation dropped sharply to 9.5% in October from 11.0% in September, while non-food inflation also fell to 6.9% from 8.2 percent over the same period.
Prices of locally produced goods saw a notable decline, with inflation easing to 8.0% compared to 10.1% in September, a sign of improving price stability in domestic markets.
In contrast, imported inflation inched up slightly to 7.8% from 7.0%, likely influenced by global shipping costs and exchange rate adjustments.
At the regional level, Bono East recorded the lowest inflation rate at 1.1%, while the North East Region posted the highest rate of 17.3% though still an improvement from 20.1 percent in September.
