Ghana records 26 new Mpox cases – Total now 713

The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has recorded 26 additional cases of Mpox as of October 10, increasing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 713.

As per the most recent update, three patients are currently hospitalised, while the death toll remains unchanged at three, with no new fatalities reported.

On October 7, the total had increased to 687 following the confirmation of 17 new cases.

The GHS has called on the public to stay alert and maintain proper hygiene practices to help prevent the transmission of the virus, which is mainly spread through close contact with an infected individual.

Common symptoms associated with Mpox include: fever, rash, headache, muscle pain, swollen lymph nodes, chills, and fatigue.

The Service has recommended that anyone experiencing these symptoms should promptly seek examination and treatment at the nearest health facility.
