UK Health Minister tests positive for coronavirus
United Kingdom’s Health minister and Conservative MP, Nadine Dorries, has tested positive for coronavirus.
Ms Dorries said after finding out she had the virus, she took all the necessary precautions. She said she had been in self-isolation at home since the diagnosis, the Daily Mail reported.
According to the department of health, Ms Dorries exhibited signs and symptoms of the virus on Thursday – the same day she attended an event with the Prime minister at Downing Street.
The UK recorded its sixth coronavirus death on Tuesday. So far, the country has recorded 382 cases of the deadly disease.
The UK government had taken several measures to ensure it contains the disease.
Meanwhile, Ms Dorrie in a statement revealed the Public Health England had begun moves to trace all persons she was in contact with prior to her diagnosis.
In a latest tweet, the MP for Bedfordshire said it was “pretty rubbish, but I hope I’m over the worst of it now”.

She also expressed worry over her 84-year-old mother who lived with her. According to the health minister, her mother had also started coughing.
Italy has seen the largest number of coronavirus infections in Europe, with the number of confirmed cases jumping by more than 1,200 to 5,883 on Saturday.

Burkina Faso, Ghana’s northern neighbours, recorded its first case of coronavirus on Monday.
Reports had it that that the two patients were a couple who had returned from a trip to France.
According to the Burkinabe Minister of Health, Claudine Lougé, the two were under quarantine in a local hospital in the country’s capital, Ouagadougou.
Other African countries that have recorded the virus include Egypt, Togo, Nigeria, Alegria, and Morocco.
In Ghana, all 46 suspected cases of the coronavirus, formally known as Covid-19, have all tested negative.
As part of moves to ensure the disease does not spread into Ghana, the President has suspended all foreign travels for government appointees, except under emergency situations.
