20-year-old man brutally stabbed to death over plastic chair

A 20-year-old man, identified as Kwadwo Bright, met his untimely death after his friend stabbed him to death over an alleged scuffle over a plastic chair at Ashanti New Town in Kumasi.

The unfortunate incident reportedly occurred in the early hours of Thursday, September 4, 2025, after an altercation between the deceased and his friend at a snooker game centre.

The altercation began between the two after both young men claimed ownership of a chair.

The quarrel later led to a heated fight between the two.

Although the misunderstanding was initially resolved, the suspect later confronted Kwadwo and stabbed him in the neck, leading to his unexpected death.

The mother of the deceased, Georgina Yeboah, narrated the sad incident to the media in an interview.

“I heard people screaming about a young man being stabbed and rushed to the scene, only to find my son in a critical state. Although the matter was reportedly settled, the suspect later attacked and stabbed Kwadwo in the neck, resulting in his death this morning,” she noted.

According to the mother, Kwadwo was rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital but was pronounced dead by doctors upon arrival.

Meanwhile, the police have yet to release an official statement on the unfortunate incident and launch an investigation into the matter.
