Ghastly accident on Tamale–Kintampo highway claims two lives

Two people have unfortunately lost their lives, while six others are currently battling for their lives following a fatal accident that occurred on the Tamale–Kintampo highway.

The ghastly incident happened at Mile Forty when a Kia truck loaded with groundnuts and carrying eight passengers veered off the road.

Another trailer travelling in the opposite direction was also involved in the crash.

Following the incident, rescue officers from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) in Buipe rushed to the scene and managed to save six people trapped in the wreckage.

Unfortunately, two victims were pronounced dead on the spot.

In a statement, the GNFS indicated that the injured and deceased were handed over to the police for further action.

Meanwhile, investigations are currently underway to ascertain the cause of the accident.
