Manasseh writes to NDC foot soldiers
Dear NDC foot soldiers,
I have seen and read your disappointment that, under your beloved NDC, some top NPP politicians were given state scholarships under questionable circumstances.
What you need to know is that the practice is mutual. There are some very top NDC politicians who are today getting fat contracts under the NPP regime. Some of them are praying hard that the NDC does not win or return to power. Some of them are sometimes seen on TV pretending to be fighting for you. If you want to understand them, buy a ticket to Uncle Ebo Whyte’s show and watch the characters.
It is called acting.
There are also some top NPP politicians who are praying for Akufo-Addo to lose because their bread will be better buttered in an NDC administration than under their own party. Do you know that some top NPP politicians took money from some top NDC politicians to campaign against the NDC in 2016? In 2020, there will be a reverse.
So?
Don’t kill yourselves down there. At the top, it’s much different. There’s nothing wrong in being a political ball boy or girl, but you need to understand the game. You can follow partisan politics, but do so with your brains. Work hard and put God’s plans for you to good use.
You and your descendants may never get a scholarship to Harvard, but you can help them live decent lives with your brains and sweat. You can break the vicious cycle of poverty if you don’t spend your entire life helping others to perpetuate the virtuous circle of privilege.
It may not be your fault that you’re spending your entire life singing the praise of someone who may not better than you. But it will be an indictment on you if your children and the generations after you will have to sell their conscience, swallow their pride and sing the praises of the children of the men and women whose asses you’re kissing in order to survive.
Don’t tie your destiny to your political party. Get a life. Get a career before jumping into the frenzied political arena.
May God grant you the grace to understand this game better so that nothing will surprise you anymore.
A few paragraphs to the wise foot soldier, they say, is more than enough. You may not like the messenger, but don’t ignore the message.
Yours sincerely,
Manasseh Azure Awuni.
Bam!
You are such a brother. Your advice to us is so timely. These politicians are just playing on our intelligence and using the youths for their parochial purposes.
I am a student now on SLTF but my two semesters fund is in arrears while those who feed on fat salaries and other monies are helping themselves with our meagre compensations.
May God help us!
Shouldn’t this be addressed to all political party foot soldiers?
You see you are the problem of this country. Do you take us for foo? why can’t you address this to all political instead of NDC. Is this problem only exist in NDC. Stop that game because we also understand the game better maybe better than you.
You are even more than a foot soldier…. playing intelligently and smartly for your paymaster. Address the issue to all political parties particularly the party in power. Why NDC?
Credit us with some intelligence… some us don’t belong to either parties… but your comments, suggestions and advises must be fair devoid of mischief… so you now agree that there is no difference between NDC and NPP as you made us to belief in 2016 and we wasted our votes. Today, rather than criticizing them as you did to NDC you are rather here speaking nonsense….,
Well spoken
I can’t think of a better journalist than you Manasseh.
This is unbridled condescension and crass patronizing on Azure’s part. To lecture and instruct NDC supporters not to verbalize their discontent but rather internalize it presupposes that they are dupes who have been had by conniving top NDC/NPP operatives. And this is coming from a man who single-handedly engineered the downfall of Mahama with his pre-election NPP inspired and financed investigation of a Ford gift. The whole letter drips with scorn and should be confined to the latest scrap heap.
Manasseh, the way you criticized Mahama and the NDC, I thought you will be doing same as an informed journalist, but it seems you have lost your pen so soon from January 2017. Why? Are they your paymasters? I’m only asking as a citizen and not a Spectator.
A very nice piece and worth sharing you were hailed and praised by Stan Togbe under Kuffour regime for exposing them through your well written articles and was hart by the same Stan Togbe for telling the elswhile JM administration the truth and various corruption scandals and corrupt related activities but my brother that will always be the game since your have chosen the path of journalism never give up you will always be vilified and vindicated by their paymaster but hold yourself to gather and seek Allah protection for you are speaking through your pen for the vulnerable and voiceless in society.
