2 arrested over murder of Lebanese man at East Legon

Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder of 58-year-old Lebanese national, Omar Mikati, who was found dead in a pool of blood at his East Legon residence on Friday, June 20, 2025.

According to a police statement released on Thursday, July 3, a Crime Scene Management Unit was immediately dispatched to the scene to collect forensic evidence.

Initial investigations revealed that the attackers stole Mr. Mikati’s Samsung phone but left behind two iPhones and a GCB ATM card with the name Paul Twumasi Ankrah.

This clue led officers to arrest Paul Twumasi Ankrah at Samsam Medie.

During questioning, Ankrah named Asiedu Henning, also known as Nana Kofi Anum, as his accomplice.

Police subsequently arrested Henning in an intelligence-led operation on July 2 at his hideout in Kutunse.

Henning later led investigators to a location where a knife believed to have been used in the murder was hidden.

The weapon has since been recovered and is undergoing forensic testing.

Meanwhile, both suspects have appeared before the Adabraka District Court 1 and are currently in police custody. They are expected back in court on Tuesday, July 8, 2025.

Police say investigations are ongoing and reaffirm their commitment to ensuring justice is served.
