IMANI petitions government over UNIPASS deal, describes it as ‘shallow’

A policy think-tank, IMANI, has petitioned the government to a probe a 10-year contract signed between the Ministry of Trade and Ghana Link Network Services Limited that introduces the Uni-Pass to the port system.

It said the contract, which has Customs Uni-Pass International Agency (CUPIA) of Korea Customs Services, as foreign partners, was ” quite shallow and simplistic.”

According to IMANI, the 10-year deal with Uni-Pass was signed in March 2018.

It was to provide single window services at the country’s ports, although two existing companies GCNet and Customs World (West Blue)  operate the country’s existing single window system.
