Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) Communications Director, Ibrahim Sannie Daara, has dismissed allegations of corruption within the football governing body, describing such claims as unfounded.

“I don’t buy into the idea that the GFA is corrupt. That is not true,” he said on Atinka FM’s Legend Sports Show with Justice Adusi-Poku.

Currently a Senior Media Officer at the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Sannie Daara emphasized the need for greater transparency regarding the GFA’s financial dealings.

“The GFA is a private entity, not a government institution. The only time the government collaborates with the GFA is for international competitions involving national teams,” he clarified.

Addressing allegations from King Faisal FC owner Alhaji Grusah who claimed the GFA demanded 50% of his $100,000 honorarium from the 2022 World Cup Sannie Daara explained that funds were redistributed to essential staff.

“There were other staff members who worked tirelessly behind the scenes, including Henry Asante Twum and Alex Asante. They also deserved compensation for their efforts,” he noted.
