Man Utd injuries: Every player out of Fulham clash

After Bruno Fernandes rescued Manchester United from Thursday night disappointment, the Red Devils turn their attentions back to the Premier League and a trip to Fulham.

Nothing is coming easy for Ruben Amorim’s side. They met a battered and bruised Rangers team without many senior players in midweek, yet it took a strike from their captain at the death to secure victory having controlled much of the contest.

We’re yet to see the club make a move in the winter in a bid to aid their gifted new manager, so Amorim looks set to work with the same group of players for the remainder of 2024/25.

Visiting Fulham has been no simple task for the rest of the division this term, and United, who already have little to play for in this competition. are unlikely to experience anything different under the lights at Craven Cottage.

Goalkeepers & Defenders

The Red Devils have a couple of fresh concerns from Thursday’s 2-1 win. While Lisandro Martinez was back in the starting lineup, neither Leny Yoro nor Matthijs de Ligt was able to complete the contest. Amorim didn’t divulge into their respective issues, but he admitted post-match that the pair were doubts for Sunday’s game.

The Portuguese coach should have Noussair Mazraoui to call upon in west London after the reliable Moroccan missed out in midweek as a precaution.

Victor Lindelof was back in training ahead of the Rangers game but he wasn’t included in the matchday squad. The Swedish defender should come back in on Sunday, especially if Yoro and De Ligt miss out.

United are certain to be without Jonny Evans and Luke Shaw due to respective muscle and hamstring injuries.

Midfielders

Mason Mount hasn’t had any luck since joining the club, and we haven’t seen the Englishman in action since he succumbed to a leg injury in the Manchester derby over a month ago.

Amorim spoke glowingly of Mount upon his arrival and he’s a player who could yet play a big role at Old Trafford once he returns from his latest setback. We just don’t know when that’ll be.

Forwards

An interesting few days lie ahead for Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho.

Neither player is injured and Garnacho started in the week, but Chelsea are pushing to sign the Argentine with United seemingly willing to let him go. Rashford, on the other hand, hasn’t been involved since mid-December as he attempts to resolve his future.

Various clubs from across the continent hold an interest in signing Rashford on loan.
