It has always been my dream to coach the Copper Queens – Nora Häuptle

Newly appointed Copper Queens head coach, Nora Häuptle has said it has been her dream to coach Zambia’s women’s senior national team. 

The Swiss trainer has been unveiled as the head coach of the Copper Queens on a three-year deal.

Hauptle was unveiled on Friday at the Pamodzi Hotel in Lusaka after deciding not to renew her contract as the head coach of Ghana’s Black Queens.

Speaking at her unveiling, Nora Hauptle expressed his delight, revealing that it has been wish to coach the Copper Queens.

She added that the objective is to improve the side and get to the top despite their previous success at the WAFCON.

“It was always a wish for me to take over this team because there are so many fantastic players, there is so much potential I see in this team and of course, I know that the expectations are very high,” she said.

“The team already got bronze (at the WAFCON 2022) and it’s our objective to go and top this result,” Hauptle added.

Nora Hauptle replaces Bruce Mwape and is expected to receive a monthly salary of $8000.
