President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Felix Gyamfi as the Acting Director-General of the National Service Authority.

His appointment, which takes effect from January 22, 2025, is in accordance with Article 195(1) of the Constitution and the National Service Authority Act, 2024 (Act 1119).

This was announced in a letter signed by the Secretary to the President, Callistus Mahama, on January 22, 2025.

The letter clarified that Mr. Gyamfi’s appointment is “pending the constitutionally required advice of the governing Board of the Authority, given in consultation with the Public Services Commission”.

Mr. Gyamfi Felix has been requested to confirm his acceptance of the appointment within 14 days.

The National Service Authority, established in 1973 provides newly qualified graduates with the opportunity to have practical exposure on the job, both in the public and private sectors, as part of their civic responsibility to the State.

It also provides user agencies with the opportunity to satisfy their manpower needs and afford communities that would otherwise have difficulty accessing mainstream development initiatives and access to improved social services through community service.
