Asante Kotoko striker Kwame Opoku is eager to make a quick return to the Black Stars following a strong performance since his return to the club.

After playing in Algeria and Morocco, Opoku has rejoined his former side on a two-and-a-half-year deal.

His impressive form has already seen him score five goals in four matches for the Porcupine Warriors.

Opoku received a call-up to the senior national team during CK Akonnor’s tenure as head coach.

In an interview with Asempa FM, the former USM Alger forward reflected on his previous experience with the Black Stars. He acknowledged that he had more to contribute during his first stint but expressed his readiness to give his best if called up again.

“I believe that during my first time with the Black Stars, I had more to offer, but maybe it wasn’t the right time. Now, I’ll make sure to improve my game, and if I’m called up again, I’m ready to give my best to the national team,” Opoku said.

The striker also praised the fans of Asante Kotoko for their warm reception upon his return and acknowledged the club’s superiority in Ghanaian football.

“Without a doubt, Asante Kotoko is the biggest club in Ghana. Its supporters are unmatched in size and passion no one can rival the phenomenal fan base of the Porcupine Warriors,” he added.
