Mauricio Pochettino hands Ghanaian forward Patrick Agyemang USA invite

Charlotte FC forward Patrick Agyemang has received his first US Men’s National Team call up ahead of the January run of friendlies. 

The US-born Ghanaian impressed at Charlotte FC in the MLS last season, leading to an invite from head coach Mauricio Pochettino. The 24-year-old scored ten goals and delivered five assists last season.

The team dominated by MLS stars have been camping in Miami an will face Venezuela and Costa Rica as part of preparations ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Agyemang will be expected to make his debut for the Yankees on Saturday evening against Venezuela.

The former Tottenham manager is building a team capable of making a mark at the tournament to be hosted in America, Canada and Mexico.
