President John Dramani Mahama is set to submit the final list of his ministerial nominees to the Speaker of Parliament on Monday, January 20, 2025.

This fulfils his pledge to name his full cabinet within 14 days of assuming office.

Reaffirming his commitment to a lean government, the president has capped his administration at 60 ministers.

The final list is expected to include nominees for critical ministries such as defence, interior, environment, health, and labour and three regional minister appointments.

Meanwhile, the Communications Team at the Presidency has debunked reports alleging the release of a third batch of ministerial nominees.

The false reports, which listed prominent National Democratic Congress (NDC) members as appointees, were described as “misleading.”

Among the names in the fake reports were Rashid Pelpuo as Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mubarak as Minister of Transport, and Sam George as Minister for Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovation.

The Office of the President clarified that no such nominations have been made.

It urged the public to disregard the misinformation, reiterating that all official announcements would be disseminated through authorised channels.

With the submission of the final batch, President Mahama is poised to assemble a streamlined and efficient team to execute his governance agenda.
