Hayford Kofi Boadi, a 25-year-old church secretary, has been arrested for allegedly embezzling GHS 300,000 belonging to a church.

The arrest follows suspicions of financial irregularities within the church, leading to an investigation that uncovered the alleged theft.

Information gathered indicates that Boadi used the stolen funds to sponsor his gay partner’s tertiary education, citing financial difficulties faced by his partner.

Further revelations indicated that part of the embezzled money was used for travel arrangements aimed at relocating to Canada to avoid potential scandals related to their relationship.

Boadi, who is married with children, reportedly confessed to the crime during interrogation.

The revelation has left the church’s leadership and congregation in shock as they grapple with the betrayal and loss.

The church has since intensified investigations to ascertain the full scope of the financial misconduct and determine whether additional funds were misappropriated.
