Prosper Ogum pleased with FA Cup win despite missed goal expectations
Asante Kotoko coach Dr Prosper Ogum has expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance following their 2-0 victory over lower-tier side Accelere8z FC in the Round of 32 of this season’s MTN FA Cup.
In his post-match comments, Ogum acknowledged that while there were expectations for a bigger margin of victory, the key objective was to progress to the Round of 16.
He praised the team’s overall performance, including the contributions from youth players.
“As a technical staff, we are happy with the youth players and the way the team performed. Maybe people expected an avalanche of goals, but the most important thing is that we won and we’re moving on to the next stage of the competition,” he said.
Kotoko will now shift their focus to the Ghana Premier League, with a crucial match against Vision FC scheduled for Sunday, January 19. The Porcupine Warriors will be looking to build momentum from their FA Cup success as they aim to continue their league push.
