The Ladder Experiment: How To Manifest The Future You Want
If you’ve been in the manifestation world for a while, you’ve probably come across terms like the 3D, living in the end, detachment, and many more. You’ve likely also heard of the ladder technique.
When you first hear about the ladder technique, you might wonder, “What does a ladder have to do with manifestation?” It might sound strange, but it’ll make much more sense once I explain it.
The ladder experiment is a technique created by Neville Goddard, one of the OGs of manifestation. He was a prominent figure in the New Thought movements, and his teachings, which emphasize the power of imagination in shaping reality, are still widely influential in the manifestation community today.
The ladder experiment demonstrates the power of imagination in manifestation. It shows that you can bring any desire into your physical world by focusing on it and living as though it’s already true. In other words, it proves that what you imagine and believe can shape your reality.
So, you’re probably wondering, What is the ladder experiment, and how do I try it? It’s actually really simple. Here are the steps:
1. Get ready for bed.
As you prepare to sleep, relax and get comfortable in bed. Make sure you’re calm, focused, and ready to concentrate on your visualization.
2. Visualize climbing the ladder.
Close your eyes and vividly imagine yourself climbing a ladder. Picture every detail—your hands gripping the rungs, your feet moving up, and the physical sensations of climbing.
3. Stay focused.
Keep the image of climbing the ladder in your mind as you drift off to sleep. Let your subconscious absorb the scene.
4. Let it go.
During the day, affirm that you won’t climb a ladder, reinforcing the contrast between your mental image and current reality. This step helps you realize that your desired reality will still manifest despite contradicting thoughts.
5. See it manifest.
Most people end up climbing a ladder within a few days, even though they’ve consciously told themselves they won’t. This shows how powerful the primary thought or desired outcome is. Despite doubts or conflicting thoughts, your mind will still bring the visualization to life. It’s not about forcing the result—it’s about trusting that the main idea will manifest, no matter what.
I know it sounds silly, but it really works. I tried this technique a while ago, and the results surprised me. I was helping my mom with something, and she climbed a ladder. At first, I was bummed that my manifestation didn’t come through and happened to someone else instead. But a few minutes later, when she couldn’t reach something, I had to use a step ladder to help her. I have to say, I was pretty shocked at how it turned out! The universe truly does have a sense of humor when you doubt it. This personal experience made me a firm believer in the power of the ladder experiment.
Now that I’ve tried this technique and succeeded, I’m excited to see what else I can manifest. It’s pretty cool! I encourage you to give it a try, and share your experiences in the comments. I’d love to hear if you ended up on a ladder after trying it!
