Fire destroys structures at Saglemi Housing site
A fire outbreak at the Saglemi Housing Project engulfed five 40-foot containers used as offices on Tuesday evening.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) responded promptly, deploying firefighters from the Sege and Devtraco Fire Stations.
The blaze, which started at approximately 5:52 pm, was brought under control after over three hours of intense firefighting.
The fire was officially extinguished by 9 pm, preventing the flames from spreading to nearby housing units.
Although the containers and their contents were destroyed, fortunately, no casualties were reported.
The cause of the fire remains unknown, and investigations are expected to commence shortly.
The GNFS has received a commendation for its swift response and effective firefighting efforts, which averted a potentially larger disaster at the site.
