The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is preparing to announce its decision on the future of Black Stars head coach Otto Addo and his technical staff.

This follows Ghana’s disappointing failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), marking one of the team’s lowest points in recent years.

GFA Communications Director Henry Asante Twum revealed that consultations with stakeholders, including the Ministry of Sports and other partners, have been completed. Recommendations have been submitted to the GFA Executive Committee for review.

“The consultations on Otto Addo and his backroom staff have been completed,” Asante Twum stated during an interview with Akoma 87.9 FM.

“There have been differing opinions from the government, ministry, partners, and the coaching staff. Recommendations have been made, and the FA will soon announce the decision regarding the coach and his team.”

Otto Addo has faced mounting criticism after leading Ghana’s most underwhelming AFCON qualifying campaign in recent memory.

The Black Stars now turn their attention to the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers, where they are set to face Chad and Madagascar in March 2025.

The impending decision by the GFA will be crucial in determining the direction of the team as they aim to rebuild and regain their competitive edge.
