SIGA unveils ‘Entity Portal’ to oversee SOE operations
The State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA) has officially launched the SIGA Entity Portal, a web-based platform designed for data collection and analysis of the operations of Specified Entities (SEs) in the country.
During the launch at the SIGA head office in Accra on Monday, SIGA’s Director-General, John Boadu, highlighted that the platform would transform governance within public entities and promote adherence to good corporate governance practices.
The event was attended by SIGA’s Board Members, management team, and representatives from various Specified Entities.
Boadu emphasized that the new platform would enable the Authority to gather real-time data from the entities it oversees, helping guide them towards greater profitability and improved performance.
“Staff here must not be walking to entities just to collect reports in this mordern times,” he said.
Real-time
Mr Boadu explained that the SIGA Entity Portal has been designed to streamline operations by automating processes, centralising reports and financial data, and delivering real-time insights.
“This will empower SIGA and its stakeholders to make informed, timely decisions while enhancing efficiency, transparency, and accountability within the SE-sector,” he said.
Mr Boadu highlighted the critical role of the portal in modernizing governance practices in a digital world to reap the benefits which abound.
“The introduction of the SIGA Entity Portal demonstrates our unwavering commitment to leveraging technology to enhance efficiency, streamline operations, and promote accountability among SEs,” he said.
Mr Boadu encouraged all Specified Entities to actively participate in the portal’s implementation and provide feedback to ensure the success of the initiative.
The General Manager of Operations at SIGA, Stephen Asiedu with the portal deployed, it will send a strong signal to entities that the government is committed to transparency.
“ This will bring more transparency to our operations as this will be more open and encourage effectiveness,” he said.
Demonstration
SIGA’s IT team provided an in-depth presentation, showcasing the portal’s functionality and effectiveness and gave insights into how the platform will optimize governance and reporting processes.
SIGA is expected to roll out training and onboarding sessions for various SEs in batches over the coming months.
The phased approach is designed to equip stakeholders with the necessary skills to maximize the portal’s potential.
