Adjei-Mensah Korsah retains Techiman South seat after re-collation exercise
The Electoral Commission has declared Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate, as the winner for Techiman South following the re-collation exercise ordered by the Electoral Commission.
The recount conducted under very strict security at the Electoral Commission’s (EC) regional office in Accra confirmed Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah’s victory with 46,663 votes.
His closest rival, Christopher Beyere Baasongti of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), secured 43,429 votes.
The Techiman South election was marred by violence during and after the December 7 election.
However, the EC’s confirmation of Korsah as the ultimate winner ends weeks of uncertainty in the constituency.
